Power Vac America Newsletter
What a start to 2010 - In February, we had a booth at the ACCA-GH Vendor Fair. A cold and wet day was bad for the contractors, but good for the number of attendees. I'm not sure what the total count was, but it was a good turn out for our first one in over six years.
In March, Katie and I attended the IAQA/ACCA annual conference in Tampa. Perfect spring break like weather and a great number of very informative break-out sessions and meetings. I always leave these conference with a list of ideas to implement throughout the year.
Paul attended the NADCA annual conference in Tucson while Katie and I were on a family cruise.
Power Vac America was awarded the NADCA Outstanding Safety Award in April. Winners are recognized for maintaining a safe work place with little or no instances of employee injuries for three or more consecutive years.
On May 5th, Power Vac America was awarded the Pinnacle Award for Excellence from the BBB in the category of Indoor Services. Only one company in each category receives this award.
Later in May, we enterd the annual ACCA-GH BBQ Cook-off for the first time. With over 15 teams competing, we were thrilled to win first place in Chili and second place in the open division. Next year we plan on entering more divisions and hope to add to our trophy case.
And last but not least, my number one son graduated from St. Edward's University with a degree in Computer Science. He has decided not to join the family business unless we decide to open an office in Austin. Maybe later...
The plan and spec jobs are keeping the crew busy this summer as well as the GSA and TXMAS projects. We have completed three projects for the various chemical companies which is encouraging.
As always, we are here to help you solve your customer's problems with their indoor air quality related issues.
